Artificial Intelligence and automation are reshaping how organizations operate — but technology alone does not create competitive advantage. Leaders who thrive in this environment are those who combine technical awareness with strong business acumen. In this session, we explore what it truly means to think strategically in an AI-driven world. Participants will examine how automation changes cost structures, decision cycles, workforce models, and customer expectations — and how project leaders must adapt accordingly.

Through real-world examples and interactive discussion, we’ll explore how to evaluate AI investments, prioritize initiatives based on business value, and ask the right questions before automating processes. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for balancing innovation with financial discipline, risk awareness, and strategic alignment — ensuring that technology serves the business, not the other way around.

Bio:

Donna Gregorio is a seasoned project manager, published author, and former IT department head with decades of experience leading successful initiatives in complex technical environments.  As an adjunct professor of Project Management at Northeastern University's College of Professional Studies, she brings real-world insight into the classroom and regularly speaks at professional conferences. During her tenure at the MITRE Corporation, Donna led a team of 30 staff and oversaw more than 50 projects, playing a critical role in improving project and service lifecycles across corporate IT.  She currently sits on the board of the PMI Mass Bay Chapter as the VP of Professional Development. Donna is the author of the book “The Successful Project Manager", a practical guide filled with actionable tools and strategies to tackle common project challenges. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Tufts University and a master’s degree in computer engineering from Northeastern University.
