AI has changed how projects succeed. Technology may not be the hardest part of the change. How work gets done and how we integrate (or not) AI to deliver results, all while the foundation is changing.
Leaders are trying to figure out where AI helps, where human judgment matters most, and what their role needs to become.
Pivot with Purpose explores the human side of leading through this shift.
This interactive session is not about how to use AI. Instead, participants will explore how to lead AI rather than let AI lead them, while navigating the uncertainty, competing demands, and human reactions that come with significant and rapid change.
Participants will use a practical and simple framework to explore Both/AND leadership: technology AND humanity, speed AND thoughtfulness, AI AND human judgment, results AND relationships, confidence AND curiosity.
The session will include real-world observations from Star's current work coaching senior technology and AI leaders, along with practical tools participants can immediately apply.
Participants will leave with:
- A practical framework for leadership as AI continues to change project work.
- Common invisible human barriers that can derail change and project success.
- Both/AND strategies for navigating competing priorities and uncertainty.
- Techniques they can immediately use for creating stronger discussions.

This project leadership session shows how project professionals navigate AI-driven changes while strengthening human leadership skills needed for project success.

BIO:
Star is a former engineer and technology executive turned leadership coach, speaker, and author of The Gratitude Gap. With more than 25 years of leadership coaching, speaking, and more than 20 years teaching project management at Boston University, she brings together technology, project leadership, and the human side of change. Today, she partners with senior leaders, including technology and AI leaders, to navigate change, strengthen leadership, and deliver results. Her work focuses on making the invisible visible: uncovering the human factors, leadership gaps, and opportunities that often determine whether change succeeds.
